Health Care "Reform" is Bush's Legacy Too

While the reporting tomorrow will focus on the legacy of health care "reform" - as awful as it's going to be - that President Obama, Speaker Pelosi and Majority Leader Reid are foisting on a public that does not want it, let's be honest: it is also President George W. Bush's legacy. Had he managed the Iraq War, Hurricane Katrina, standing up against corruption that was occurring and a host of other issues better following his reelection in 2004, it is highly unlikely that the Democrats would have the huge majorities they have enjoyed in the House and Senate the past year-and-a-half. I think they would have had majorities anyway (history tells us they would), but not the huge majorities that have been in place. And that has made all the difference in this debate.

Presidential leadership matters. And poor leadership can bite the country in the ass even after you have left office.
