Health Care: 2008 Democratic Primaries or Copenhagen?

I have to admit to being perplexed by the current health care debate. Not so much on whether the bill is any good. Me and most of America think it's not. What I'm confused about is whether we are seeing a replay of the 2008 Democratic primaries where the Obama campaign knew how to win the delegate count or the Chicago 2016 debacle in Copenhagen where the President put his prestige on the line without knowing if we had the votes (and in fact didn't).

All signs point to the Dems not having the votes in the House, which is all that matters. But I've seen too many House votes where arms get twisted at the last second to feel comfortable. The debacle of the Bush second term may be coming home to roost.

Let's hope for another Copenhagen though.
